Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Maitland Grossmann High School, a vibrant, inclusive community located on Wonnarua Land in the Hunter Valley. We acknowledge the Wonnarua People as the Traditional Custodians and pay respect to Elders past and present.

Since 1884, our school has been committed to empowering every student to achieve their best in a supportive, dynamic environment. We prioritise clear teaching, equitable support, and a safe, respectful space where students are encouraged to take pride in their achievements and contribute positively.

We proudly support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through authentic partnerships and cultural programs aligned with NSW Department of Education policies. Our diverse curriculum offers academic, vocational, and creative pathways, including STEM, Inspire – High potential and gifted education, the Arts, leadership, and a strong Support Unit embracing inclusive education.

Guided by our School Excellence Plan, we focus on student growth, wellbeing, attendance, and tailored pathways. Our dedicated Wellbeing Team provides trauma-informed care and fosters a positive school culture.

More than a school, we are a community connected with families, local businesses, and cultural organisations, preparing young people for a confident, compassionate future. Thank you for your interest in Maitland Grossmann High School.
